The researcher (R) arranges in principle dates for the secondment with Scientific Coordinators (SCs) of Host and Home institutions, who evaluate the proposal in view of overall secondments schedule. In case of doubt, SCs involve the BREUDS Operational Manager (OM).
R communicates the plan to OM, normally at least two weeks in advance of the start of the scheduled secondment, with stated confirmation of advance agreement by relevant SCs.
OM rules on the eligibility of the scheduled secondment in view of the rules and secondment schedule. OM normally approves a scheduled secondment within one week of submission, unless issues are identified that necessitate further discussion or consideration.
After approval, OM informes the responsible Finance Officer of the involved BREUDS European Partner (FO) of the scheduled secondment.
After a secondment:
R claims BREUDS support for the secondment from FO, through intermediation by the relevant European Partner's SC, presenting (scanned copies of) letters by Host and Home institution that confirm the dates of the secondment. The letters are normally arranged by the relevant SCs, and signed by a person with administrative responsibility such as Head of Department/Research Division or administrator, and preferable follow this model. Dates should be as agreed with OM before, unless changes have been agreed with OM. The scanned letters must be send to OM by e-mail. Originals are to be kept on file by the relevant partners' SCs.
Normally within one week of the end of the secondment, R sends a short report to OM (by e-mail), preferably following this model.
Publications of research that has benefitted (in part) from BREUDS support, should contain a brief acknowledgement, "This research has been supported [in part] by EU Marie-Curie IRSES Brazilian-European partnership in Dynamical Systems (FP7-PEOPLE-2012-IRSES 318999 BREUDS)." OM should be kept informed about the appearance of publications (incl. arxiv preprints) that have benefited from BREUDS support.
